National Smile Month Children’s Day at Dental Rooms

We celebrated National Smile Month in style with our Dental Rooms Children’s Tea Party.

Around 50 children, parents and staff gathered on Saturday 18th May to play games, enjoy their tea party ‘goodie bags’, witness some magic and story telling from the wonderful David Wood, meet the Dental Rooms Tooth Fairy and learn about healthy habits for their teeth!

DAVID WOOD – MAGIC & STORYTELLING

David Wood, titled “The National Children’s Dramatist” by The Times, is a Wimbledon Village local and one of our favourite patients.

Guests of all ages were spellbound by his reading of a selection of his books and there was great demand to buy some on the day.

For anyone who missed the opportunity to buy one of David’s books, we have some displayed in the practice for June and July and David has kindly agreed to sign copies on request.

DENTAL ROOMS TOOTH BRUSHING ACADEMY

We launched out Tooth Brushing Academy for children where they get a one to one tooth brushing masterclass with one of our experts, and then get a certificate and ‘graduation’ photo, complete with mortar board and scroll – Pink Panther is optional!

TIN CAN ALLEY

Children won prizes and stickers for knocking down our towers of cans representing ‘bad’ fizzy drinks!

THE SUGAR PIT QUIZ

We had 2 ‘pits’ filled with 30kg of sugar! Players had to guess how much sugar was in items such as a chocolate bar, a can of fizzy drink, juices and tomato sauce, using the sugar from the pits to measure out how much sugar they guessed was in each item.

Our lovely paedodontic specialist, Dr Ayesha Patel, was on hand to teach children about healthier alternatives.

SEE YOU NEXT TIME!

We have had wonderful feedback from our first Children’s Day at Dental Rooms, and we look forward to seeing you at the next one!
